Ali Abid is Team Manager Product Engineering & Operations Responsible for Studio Projects West – a long title that essentially means he is the central hub when it comes to assembling cross-functional teams for Knightec Group’s customers.

How would you describe your role and what you do in your daily work at Knightec Group?

I work as a business manager, helping our customers solve complex technical challenges by assembling tailored, cross-functional teams. My focus is on understanding the customer’s needs, enabling innovation, and driving our studio projects forward – from idea to finished product, together with fantastic colleagues.

In my role, I get to combine technology, business development, and leadership to create value both for our customers and our team, while also ensuring that our teams remain at the forefront of product development.

How have you developed in your role since you started here?

The role has evolved from being deeply involved in leading projects to now driving strategic solutions and tailoring teams with specialised expertise.

My understanding of high-level innovation has grown enormously. Working closely with different disciplines such as design, software, production, simulation, and QA has given me a broader technical perspective and the ability to navigate complex projects.

Learning something new and working creatively with problem-solving keeps me motivated, and Knightec Group is the perfect workplace – I see it as a school for continuous learning. 

What’s the best thing about working as a consultant in engineering?

The opportunity to work on diverse projects across industries such as manufacturing, life science, energy, and automotive, where you are constantly developing and exploring new technologies.
