Shaping a sustainable future at Hardware & Design
To showcase our talent, we focus on an instrumental figure who exemplifies the essence of innovation and sustainability. Meet Karin Habermann, Advisor and Team Manager at Knightec Group.
Karin's journey with Knightec Group weaves a narrative of ambition, environmental stewardship, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
Please tell us a bit about your background and what led you to pursue a career in consulting
I started my career as an industrial designer and have worked in different types of companies, both companies with in-house design departments and as an external consultant. I have always been attracted to somewhat challenging jobs. What made me return to consulting was the opportunity to work with a diversity of companies with different challenges, allowing me to learn and evolve.
What specific aspects of Knightec Group attracted you to join the company?
I was looking for a company that shared my values. The culture of diversity and equality was essential to me. When I was recruited, I had the opportunity to form a role adapted to my skills and interests. In my role, I can use my background in industrial design and design management, combined with my passion and expertise in circularity and sustainability.
What aspects of your professional work are most fulfilling, especially in adding value to your clients and their long-term success?
In addition to delivering on specific project assignments, contributing to clients' broader development is particularly rewarding. For example, assisting clients in establishing robust internal processes adds enduring value, laying a solid foundation for their future product development.

In what ways has Knightec Group supported your professional growth and development so far?
I have had the opportunity to form my role in line with what I want to do – and what I do best. The framework that my team uses for professional development is also a very good tool. It builds on the idea that the consultants' goals are broken down into "bite-size" tasks that are challenging yet relatively easy to succeed. I believe that the possibility of achieving what you have set out to do (even if the action is relatively small) is very important if wanting to achieve a bigger goal.
Are there any training or learning opportunities at Knightec Group that you find particularly beneficial?
With our broad client base covering a multitude of industries, there are great opportunities to learn from different industry sectors and companies. I am also a very curious person, and there is so much knowledge to tap within Knightec Group if you take the time to talk to colleagues that you bump into in the office.
And finally, what do you think are the success factors at Knightec Group?
The ability to collaborate and act professionally in interactions with both colleagues and clients. Being reflective of your own actions and personal development
